DIY_ Wooden Bracelet

Hi guys! As I had said to today I as posting a DIY. Today I will show you how to make a wooden bead bracelet. But GUESS WHAT!! Today the DIY will not be in pictures but in a VIDEO! Yep, that's right. • 36 inches of cording, folded in half
• 13 wooden beads (I used large one, 1/2 in, so it amount will vary)

DIY-Re-purposing old keys

What do you do when you have too many keys and not enough doors?!

You turn them into pretty charms!

I don't know about you guys, but you can't ever have enough key charms. I love to make them into necklaces, bracelets, and even scrap booking charms; they just add a new element. :) 

This morning while going through my craft hoard (yes, I do hoard my supplies), I found a box of pretty embellishments that had not yet been sorted, and several keys. I decided to turn them into charms, and was so pleased with the result I decided I would share. :)

So, lets get right into it!

• keys
• nail polish or acrylic paint
• lost of embellishments
• super glue or metal glue

1. Paint your key    

I first used the black nail polish... 

 Then lightly painted the edges with a gold nail polish to give it an antique sorta look.

2. EMBELLISH!!

You can go as crazy or as light as you want with embellishments. (FYI: the smaller the embellishment the greater the chances are it will fall off with wear)

3. Let the glue dry completely before wearing!

 

 Aren't these just cute? 

Please don't tell me I would be the only one who would wear one of these out...LOL

DIY-Love potion charm

 We all deserve a little bit of magic in our lives :)

I don't know about you guys but I love anything that is miniature and has to do with magic. To me, it is just the cutest things and they remind me of when I was super obsessed with Harry Potter (I might still be, lol). I've tried making these with water, glue, clear icing gel, and clear glue but I find that the laundry detergent works best. I do say tho, after a while, the water in it will evaporate and the vial will not be full, BUT the food color will stain the vial giving it a really pretty stained glass look. I just can't express how much I love the way it looks! Anyways, on to how I made it. :)

• small vial with cork top 
• clear laundry detergent
• food coloring & toothpick
• super glue (E6000,jewelry glue..)
• eye pin
• Chain with closure
• jump ring
• charm (optional)
• twine, or wire and a small tag (optional)
• mini heart glitter (optional)

I am missing a couple pictures here because I didn't think they were necessary.

1.  Fill your vial with the laundry detergent. If you are using gel food coloring, dip your toothpick in in, then stir it into the vial. If you are using water food coloring, add drop by drop and stir until you achieve the desired color.
2.  Add glitter if you have any. I bought the small heart glitter at Michaels. (Note: It is a seasonal product, available around Valentines)
3. If you are adding a tag to it, go ahead and wrap it around the neck of the bottle and tie it tight. You can also add a bit of glue to the knot so you can be sure it will not come off.
4. Push down the cork in the bottle until you get a mark like below.

5. Push in your eye pin through the cork. Bend it at the bottom and cut the extra. Add glue for extra security.

6. Now, make sure you are happy with the color and you've added what your want inside because once its closed, you won't be able to open it!

7. Add glue up to the mark on the cork from step 4.

8. Close off your vial and let dry for at least 24 hours.

9. Add your charm and chain using the pin hole at the top, and you are done!

 After the water in the detergent has evaporated, the glitter sticks to the walls of the vial :)

They don't stay there long, but it sure does look cute!

DIY- 3 step above the knuckle ring

Hi guys! Today I bring you this super easy DIY above the knuckle ring. For this ring here, that kinda looks like a bulls nose ring. you only need a few materials and it is only THREE steps! Can't get any easier then that! :) 

I first saw rings like this on Instagram a couple months back, and thought there were really cute, so I decided to make my own. I've also made one with chain, and an infinity one. I will be adding a tutorial for those sometime soon too, so be on the lookout :)

•  26 gauge wire (Wal-Mart carries this for around 3 dollars)
• Jewelry Glue (I used G.S Hypo Cement Jewelry glue)
• Small beads (about the size of  seed bead)
• Wire cutters
• Ring Mendrel or anything round about the size of your finger (i.e. a chapstik)

1. Cut about 1 inch of wire

 2. Using your mendrel, or round onject, make a horseshoe shape. 

 Measure around your finger, and cut any excess wire

 3. Add a bit of glue to the ends and add your bead. 

VIOLA! You are done! See, super easy! And it looks cute too, very dainty and girly :)

DIY fabric bow bracelet

It seems that I am obsessed with bows lately, so why not make one into a bracelet? This is easy to do, and the options are endless! Also, you can add a bit more dazzle with studs, rhinestones, pearls; pretty much anything you can think of! You might even try adding some charms, but I liked it just with the bow :)

•  bow (tutorial here)
• chain, about 3 inches
• 3 jump rings
• lobster clasp
• a nail
• hammer
• pliers

(I am really sorry this post has no pictures, unfortunately my memory card formatted. I will update this later with pictures!) 

• On a hard surface,one where you don't mind hammering,  lay your bow and mark two dots near the edges in the middle.

• Place the nail on one of the marks, and hammer down through the fabric. You want to make sure you get it in all the way. Now do this to the other side.
• Once you have your holes, add a jump ring to each one. Close one, and add the chain to the other one. 
• Add the third jump ring to the other end of the chain, and to that add your clasp.

Once done, you can go ahead and decorate it anyway you want as I mentioned above. :)

If you don't like the way I chose to close this bracelet, you can always change it up. To me, this way was the easiest.

Braided leather bracelet

Doesn't that look cool? Maybe I am the only one that thinks so haha

I really how this bracelet looks, even though its just a simple braid.

•  5 pieces of leather cord, about 10 inches
• 2 ribbon end clasps
• 2 jump rings (3 if adding a charm)
• lobster clasp
• flat pliers

 

 Line your cords inside your ribbon clasp. It helps to add a bit of glue to hold them down, and press it closed between flat pliers. If you did not add any glue, press down hard. You really want the little teeth on the clasp to grab the cord.  Now, braid your cords.

I paired the two edge cords together, leaving the middle one (purple) as a single.

 

 When you reach the ends, measure around your wrist and cut. And again, add your ribbon end clasp. Lastly, add your clasp. And you are done!!!!

Braided button bracelet

These are perfect for stacking and the button makes them stand out. I love these bracelets because not only are they super easy to make, but you can make a lot of them in a couple minutes!

I remember when I was in high school, I liked to make the knotted friendship bracelets, but my fingers would end up hurting so much after the first one. Lets just say I never could make more then two a day, haha. Now with these, I can make at least 20 in half an hour!

 

 

 3 different colors of craft thread (40 inches each)
A decorative button
Clear glue

Pretty easy, fold your threads in half and make a knot in the middle leaving space for your button to fit. (Picture below)

Now, braid it! Braid about 7inches. Make a knot, add your button, make another know to secure it, and add glue to that knot. Cut off the excess thread.

Viola! You are done!

See, I told you it was pretty easy! The glue on the knot, is to keep it from coming undone (it's happened :( ), but it is not necessary.

DIY- Washi tape earrings

Hey guys! I a really sorry this post did not go up on Thursday. :( I had to work that day and well i came home exhausted from the 13 hour shift. Hopefully this will be the last week I work so much because I have many DIYs for you!
BUT without further ado; I wills how you how I made these really cute washi tape earrings!

•  washi tape
• earring back
• glue (E600 or crazy glue)
• Modge Podge Dimensional Magic
• small wood blank
• 
  

I didn't take many pictures of the process because it is so easy to do.

1. Lightly coat your wood blank with glue and stick on the washi tape. the glue will hold the washi tape down as the dimensional magic dries

 The design i wanted was too small so i added solid colored washi tape to the top and bottom edge.

2. When the glue is dry, add a layer of the dimensinal magic.  Make sure there are no bubbles!

if you spot any, blow on then with a straw or poke them with a safety pin/needle. Allow to dry completely, about 12 hours.

3. Once dry, apply the earring back with a bit of glue and you are done!

Wasn't that quick and simple? Imagine all the possibilities! I have made many pairs with different patterns and let me tell you, not only are they cute but one of a kind! These would be cute for gifts too.

Fuzzy Nails!

Doesn't that look like a cute furry monster? NO? Hmm, maybe it's just me.  I don't know why, but I like how this looks, the fuzzyness is just too darn cute! There nails are as cute as they are easy; you only need two things to make them possible!

•  Flocking Powder (available at craft stores!)
• Clear nail polish

• Lay down a piece of scratch paper on your work surface
• Apply clean nail polish on your nail, and white still wet, shake the flocking powder over your nail.
• Let dry, and with a brush, brush off excess from your skin.

See, that was simple! 

One thing to keep in mind though; these don't last very long!

They WILL wash off in the shower completely, and the powder will start to come off if you get it wet even just a bit. To avoid this, you could seal it with the clear nail polish, but then they will not be fuzzy.
