DIY- Decorated pencils

I don't know about you guys but plain yellow pencils aren't as fun to have on your desk as much as pretty decorated ones. I tend to keep a cup of pencils on my desk for card sketching and what not but yellow was getting pretty boring to look at, and its not fun writing with a yucky colored pencil. So, getting bored with my pencils I decided I wanted to decorate some.

  • Pencils, if you have any holiday pencils, those would be perfect for this
  • spray paint
  • tape
  • anything you want to use to decorate ( I used acrylic paint, nail polish, nail decorating tape, paint pens...)

  • All you have to do is tape around the eraser part and spray paint. Make sure you are doing this outside and put paper or a bag on the ground!

Let the spray paint dry according to the directions.

  • Once the paint is dry, you can start decorating them anyway that you want.

-If you are using nail polish or acrylic paint, you will need something to stand the pencil on to dry so none comes off. You can use a Styrofoam block for this, or just paint half first.
-When using things like stickers make sure to seal them with modge podge or white glue so they wont peel off
-If you want to use scrapbook paper, only roll around the pencil ONCE, doing more will quickly peel off when sharpening. Make sure to also seal in the paper will modge podge or white glue

Hope you have fun!!!
